Spiral Stairs
| Welcome |
Spiral stairs wind around a central pole. They typically have a handrail on the outer side only, and the inside is just the central pole. Spiral stairs were originally designed in a clockwise ascent in order to fend off righthanded attacking swordsmen but have undergone many changes over the 2500 years since their introduction. Today spiral stairs are used chiefly as decorative elements or space efficient ways to achieve the next higher floor available in both clockwise and anti-clockwise ascent directions. Bertram Blondina is teamed up with Stair-pak providing and installing high quality kit stairs but also design and build custom Spiral Stairs to fit every taste.
